Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, captivated the world with his extraordinary talent, innovative music, and mesmerizing performances. Born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, he rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most influential and beloved figures in the history of popular music. However, his life was not without its share of controversy and challenges, and his untimely death on June 25, 2009, left a void in the music industry and in the hearts of millions.
From an early age, it was evident that Michael possessed a rare gift. As a member of the Jackson 5, a group formed with his older brothers, he showcased his prodigious talent and undeniable star quality. With his incredible vocal range and exceptional dance skills, Michael stood out as a standout performer even among his siblings. It was clear that he was destined for greatness.
In 1979, Michael released his breakthrough solo album, “Off the Wall,” which became a commercial and critical success. However, it was his 1982 album, “Thriller,” that catapulted him to unparalleled fame. “Thriller” remains the best-selling album of all time, with iconic hits such as “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” and the title track. The album’s groundbreaking music videos, including the 14-minute “Thriller” short film, revolutionized the medium and solidified Michael’s status as a visionary artist.

However, Michael Jackson’s personal life was marred by controversy and legal troubles. Accusations of child molestation in 1993 and 2003 tarnished his reputation and subjected him to intense scrutiny. Despite being acquitted of criminal charges, these allegations cast a shadow over his career and personal life, forever changing the public’s perception of him.
On June 25, 2009, the world was stunned by the news of Michael Jackson’s sudden death at the age of 50. The circumstances surrounding his passing, attributed to acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication, further fueled speculation and controversy. His death marked the end of an era and left a profound void in the music industry.

His philanthropic efforts, including his support for humanitarian causes and numerous charitable donations, reflect his desire to make a positive impact on society. ‘Luv Songs (Unruly)’
Checkout ‘Casamigos’ from the highly anticipated album…
Phabo is fully immersed in a renewed sense of self-assurance, ambition, and purpose as he gears up for his upcoming new full-length LP. He delivers the effortlessly smooth and timely slow jam “Casamigos” available to stream now on all digital platforms via The Orchard.
Written by PHABO and co-produced by GRAMMY Award-winning hitmaker Eric Hudson (Whitney Houston, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey) with Phillip C. Lewis (Mary J. Blige, H.E.R., Doja Cat) and Ezzra (John Legend, Ant Clemons, Keyshia Cole), “Casamigos” marks another standout ballad from the naturally gifted multi-dimensional artist at his most comfortable. The track follows on from his latest offerings this year including the official studio version of “Scorpio Moon” – first premiered on COLORS – and the sun-soaked “Out of Touch” featuring UK R&B artist Shaé Universe.
Speaking on the inspiration behind his new single, PHABO shares, “When I wrote ‘Casamigos’, it was a song meant to embody the emotion of a bitter-sweet companionship. Losing something you’re not sure is worth chasing. Then taking on this false sense of control once reacquired, knowing that time and experiences have transpired between both you and your old flame. ‘Casamigos’ is every bad decision’s accountability partner.”
PHABO continues to stake his claim as one of today’s most sought after collaborators in contemporary R&B and already in 2023 he’s collaborated with fast rising artists Jordan Hawkins (“Timeless”), Amaria (“Damaged”), Zay Johnny (“Poed Up”), and Modha (“Lions & Cowards”). He’s also established himself as a driving force in the songwriting scene having penned hits for the likes of Kehlani, Kyle Dion, and Jahkoy.
Hailed as an “indie luminary” and “R&B’s new North Star” (Noisey/Vice), singer-songwriter PHABO is modernizing the best parts of what we know as R&B. In July 2021, the Los Angeles-based artist issued his debut album, Soulquarius, via the influential radio show and indie record label Soulection Records known for their work championing and ushering in the new generation of R&B talent.
Laced with notable guest appearances from Alex Vaughn, Destin Conrad, Rexx Life Raj and Mntra set against inimitable production work by LosHendrix (SZA, Giveon, Childish Gambino) and Louie Lastic (Goldlink, Masego, Kali Uchis), Phabo bares his soul on Soulquarius as he sings of love, lust, musings, heartbreak, and passion. The record is an intoxicating experience that captures a West Coast ethos harking back to the pioneers of classic soul and R&B from artists like D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, and Jahiem drawing influences from the rotating collective of experimental Black music artists in the late 90’s and early 00’s while also incorporating sounds from contemporary R&B. In support of the record, PHABO embarked on his first ever 15-date headline tour, which was supported by LAYA and sold out shows in key markets including DC, Toronto, New York City, Atlanta, LA and London.
The Don’t Get Too Cozy Tour is set to hit 25 cities beginning September 6th in Phoenix and will make stops in New York City, Chicago, Toronto, Atlanta, and Nashville before the US leg wraps in Los Angeles on October 13th. PHABO will then continue to Europe for the final leg of shows in London, Amsterdam, and Paris. Special guest artist to be announced. Tickets are available for Spotify presale starting Wednesday, June 21st at 10:00am local time and on-sale Friday, June 24th at 10:00am local at DontGetTooCozy.com.
